Just how much should Uncle Sam do to help Americans buy their own homes?

Just how much should Uncle
Sam do to help Americans buy
their own homes?
For 70 years — and for
the last 15 in particular — the answer has been:
Whatever it takes.
Now, policymakers are pausing
to reconsider. In the next few months, they'll weigh
whether there can be too much of a good thing when it
comes to helping families finance the American
Dream.
The rethink could mean a
shake-up for a mortgage market addicted to government
subsidies.

by Larry O'Connor, BigGovernment.com

As our readers have already learned, Rep. Andre
Carson gathered Capitol Hill reporters around him and
told the tale of racial slurs
and menacing crowds on the verge
of hurling rocks at the congressmen.
Our first few videos
showed the congressmen coming out of the Cannon Office
Building, walking down the steps and into Independence
Avenue from various angles. None of those videos
revealed the racial hatred Rep. Carson conveyed to
reporters that day and none of the ...moreCan Britain take five more years of hard Labour?

The Conservatives are the only

Voting Tory in today's General

Many will never have voted Tory

On Friday, I asked Rush Limbaugh for his response to President Obama's
description of him as "troublesome" and of
his program as "vitriol." Limbaugh told me
he does not believe Obama is trying to do what is best
for the country and added, "Never in my life have
I seen a regime like this, governing against the will
of the people, purposely."
By using the word "regime," Limbaugh was
doing something he does all the time: throwing the

Legislation has been introduced by Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas., to repeal the 1977 Community Reinvestment Act that gave activist groups power over banks.

Examiner Editorial
Rep. Jeb Hensarling, R-Texas, has introduced
legislation to repeal the 1977 Community Reinvestment
Act, a damaging relic from Jimmy Carter's presidency.
The CRA empowered left-wing activist groups like ACORN
and the Greenlining Institute to use claims of racism
to force banks and other financial institutions to
make loans and mortgages on the basis of the ethnic
and demographic makeup of neighborhoods instead of the
creditworthiness of borrowers. At the time, this tool

The prospect of losing two House seats in
back-to-back special elections next month has sparked
a vigorous, behind-the-scenes Democratic effort,
designed to avoid an outcome that could lead to panic
among the rank and file and stall the momentum
generated by the recent passage of landmark health
care legislation.
The trajectories of the
two elections, which will take place in Pennsylvania
and Hawaii over a span of four
days next month, have raised alarm bells among top

Yesterday, I spent a little time at a local

Davanni’s has 21 locations throughout the Twin
Cities, a smaller, local chain that suddenly must now
comply with this federal requirement to publish the
caloric content of each of its menu items on all of
its printed presentations. However, these

Gun control laws divert money from law enforcement
activities that work. The thousands of hours spent by
police to register guns are time that police could
have put to solving crimes. That diversion of
resources is the real threat to public safety.
On Friday,
a federal District Court judge tried to indirectly
reinstate the D.C. handgun ban. Judge Ricardo
Urbina, a Clinton appointee, wants to make it so
difficult for people living in DC to use a handgun
defensively that few will get one.
